C M (Mike) Henderson has been an artist over 40 years and a member of the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild for 7 years. He paints pictures of Texas with an emphasis on the cowboy culture that still exists in most rural areas today. His paintings of the Bastrop and Lost Pines area have also gained wide popularity.
Mike studied art at Temple College and the University of Texas. He has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine and served as judge in many Texas art events.
After 7 years as a commercial artist, he began his fine art career in the seventies going to the open and juried art festival shows around the state. At the turn of the millennium he became a full time professional painter and has one major show a year in Bastrop.
