Growing up, I was fortunate to be surrounded by talented artists. I learned that seeing is not just looking, extension is of the body AND the mind, and 1/2" one way or another DOES make a huge difference.
My affinity for animals began in childhood as well and ran through my zookeeper training at the Los Angeles Zoo and continues today in my work as staff photographer for the Capital of Texas Zoo. Pet, domestic, and exotic animal photography is my specialty. I find it important to bring the same enthusiasm and attention to detail whether taking pictures of animals or for commercial, business, landscape, or art presentations.
My working career has included everything from Hearst Castle tour guild to Los Angeles fashion model to 24 years as both a high school and junior high teacher and counselor to a successful live melodrama theatre owner. What does all this bring to my photography? A good eye, editing skills, and a passion for "finding myself" after all these years as a photographer. I think you'll see all this reflected in my work.
